Compassionate support focused on getting the whole family exactly what it needs--sleep! Our doulas can room-in with or stay nearby your baby throughout the shift, change diapers, bring your baby to you for breast/chestfeeding (and give you support if you need it!), and then lull your little one to sleep while you quickly slip back into Dreamland. We can also bottle-feed or cup-feed your baby with expressed milk or formula at any point (per your instruction) and wake you to pump if you plan for that. Light, quiet household tasks can be be completed by us as needed while everyone sleeps and then we can leave you in the morning with a simple, nourishing breakfast and/or a snack prepped for later.
— $35 hourly rate for overnights, usually 8-10 hour booking
When you imagine the staff wheeling you to your car with your baby and waving goodbye at the end of your birthing stay, what are your next thoughts? Are they ones of trepidation and overwhelm? They *could* be ones of pure relief if you opt to use one of us with our Best Start Package. Whether we've assisted you in birthing or not, your postpartum and infant doula care begins when you arrive home and follows you through your first night home after discharge. We are right there with you to help interpret every cry, change diapers, and make sure you and your partner are just as fed and nourished as your baby is. The very first stretch home can be one exhaustion and worry, but it doesn't have to be. We get it. We've got you.
— $800 flat-rate for overnight live-in doula care (once home after discharge through noon the following day); additional discount for birth clients
Specifically coordinated with our doula, Anna Bonick, this type of coverage explores, on a peer-to-peer basis, what it means to become an adoptive family, your emotions and hopes in regards to openness with expectant parents and birth families, and any discussions regarding specific referrals you may receive along your journey. Anna is able to offer her nursing experience and expertise in reflecting various medical scenarios, although cannot guarantee long-term prognoses. (This does not take the place of a consultation with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Medical Doctor.)
— variable fee, contingent upon usage of post-placement doula care
All of the offerings included in the Lean on Your Village postpartum doula care service (see above), but with a focus on bonding, attachment, assistance with induced lactation (should you choose), and all of the emotions that come with placement.
— fee described above under Lean on Your Village offerings for daytime and overnight options
No parent is ever prepared to say goodbye to their child, much less hello and goodbye within a short time span. The most important thing to realize in the midst of such a crisis is that you are still celebrating a birth, and every element of birth that you thought would bring joy still carries as much meaning. Your baby is real and your baby's life matters. We are here to remind you of this fact every step of the way.
Having both personal and professional experience with infant and pregnancy loss, we are here to support you and your family during every stage: the shock and attempt at processing news that medical staff is sharing with you, planning your last moments with your baby, whether through birth, in the NICU or even at home. We understand just what keepsakes mean the most to families and how to create them. We know just how to hold space when the unimaginable is your reality--and how to best support you, your partner and your family through this transition. We are available both in the hospital, as well at home when you are healing, and we have resources to connect you with as your find your footing in this new normal. Whether you are anticipating a loss and are planning ahead for labor and birth support, or you heard about us in the hospital or at home, we are here. You aren't alone and we are honored to walk this path with you.
